Welcome to Ironwood Escapes. By booking or participating in any experience offered by Ironwood Escapes, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Ironwood Escapes.

Booking and Reservation Policies

To secure your place on an Ironwood Escapes experience, a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total tour price is required at the time of booking. Full payment is due 60 days prior to the experience start date. We accept major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and bank transfers. All prices are quoted in Canadian Dollars (CAD).

Upon successful booking and deposit payment, you will receive a confirmation email detailing your reservation, payment schedule, and an itinerary. Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Minors (under 18) are welcome on select tours but must be accompanied by a legal guardian and specific age restrictions may apply to certain immersive experiences. Please inquire prior to booking for details regarding minor participation.

Cancellation, Refund, and Modification Policies

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. The 25% deposit is non-refundable. For cancellations received:

• More than 60 days prior to the experience start date: Full refund of payments made minus the non-refundable deposit.
• Between 30 and 59 days prior: 50% refund of payments made, minus the non-refundable deposit.
• Less than 30 days prior: No refund.

Modification requests (e.g., date changes) are subject to availability and may incur an administrative fee of $50 CAD per change, if requested more than 30 days prior to the tour. Modifications within 30 days are generally not permitted. In the unlikely event Ironwood Escapes cancels an experience due to unforeseen circumstances or force majeure (e.g., natural disaster, pandemic travel restrictions), participants will receive a full refund or a credit for a future tour. Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against unforeseen personal cancellations or interruptions.

Experience Participation Requirements

Our experiences vary in physical demand. General tours typically require moderate walking, while some immersive experiences may involve standing for extended periods or navigating uneven terrain. Participants are responsible for assessing their own physical fitness level and suitability for their chosen experience.

• Medical Disclosure: Participants must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations that may affect their participation. This information is confidential and allows us to ensure your safety and enjoyment.
• Conduct: We expect all participants to respectfully engage with our guides, fellow guests, and, most importantly, the historical sites and artifacts. Any disruptive or disrespectful behaviour may result in removal from the tour without refund.
• Photography: Personal photography for non-commercial use is generally permitted, unless otherwise specified by the heritage site rules. Please be mindful of other guests and refrain from using flash in sensitive areas. Commercial photography or videography requires prior written consent from Ironwood Escapes.

Liability, Safety, and Insurance Terms

Participants acknowledge and voluntarily assume the risks inherent in travel and historical experiences, including but not limited to injuries, illness, damage to property, and loss. Ironwood Escapes, its employees, agents, and operators are not liable for any such losses or damages unless directly caused by their gross negligence.

In the event of a medical emergency, you authorize Ironwood Escapes and its guides to seek and arrange appropriate medical treatment. Participants are responsible for any costs incurred. It is a condition of booking that all participants obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering personal accident, medical expenses, emergency evacuation, baggage theft, and cancellation.

Intellectual Property and Content Usage

All content presented during Ironwood Escapes experiences, including but not limited to historical narratives, research, images, and proprietary materials, remains the intellectual property of Ironwood Escapes or its licensors. Unauthorized reproduction or commercial use is strictly prohibited.

By participating in an Ironwood Escapes tour, you grant Ironwood Escapes the right to use any photographs or videos taken by our staff during the experience for promotional purposes, without compensation. If you prefer not to be photographed or recorded, please inform your guide at the start of the tour. Any historical content interpreted or presented by Ironwood Escapes is based on diligent research and is for educational and entertainment purposes.

Dispute Resolution and Legal Proceedings

Should any dispute arise concerning these terms or your Ironwood Escapes experience, we encourage direct communication to resolve the matter amicably. Please contact us in writing at [email protected]. If a resolution cannot be reached, the parties agree to first attempt mediation in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Any unresolved disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.

Policy Changes and Notification Procedures

Ironwood Escapes reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our services or participation in our experiences after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically for any updates.

For significant policy changes, we will endeavour to notify registered participants via email. Previous versions of these terms and conditions may be requested by contacting us directly.
